GBL aims to revitalize India’s approach to stop the occurrence, recurrence and spread of leprosy; and reduce the debilitating consequences of leprosy with greater involvement of stakeholders and civil society, in collaboration with the government to strengthen the national policy priorities and programmes.

Innovative Strategies

GBL will develop innovative projects of surveillance, control and care programs; and use technology to generate and aggregate data so as to contribute to strengthening national efforts. By integrating technology, community engagement, and policy advocacy, GBL seeks to implement effective and sustainable solutions.

Tech4Leprosy

Leveraging cutting-edge technology for data collection and analysis is key to improving surveillance and treatment efficacy. Real-time data capture and advanced analytics will help inform decision-making and policy formulation.

Collaborative action

GBL will work with members to help raise resources for pilot projects which will be applied within members’ different areas of expertise and geographical competence.

Important aspects of the GBL approach will be to build professional cadres for the pilot programmes; conduct operational research; conduct public communication and engagement; and ensure inclusion of persons affected by Leprosy in all activities.

Community Engagement

Engaging communities through education, awareness campaigns, and empowering local organizations is crucial to reducing stigma and ensuring the inclusion of people affected by leprosy. GBL focuses on building strong community based networks (women, youth and associations of health professionals, etc..) to support its initiatives.

Policy Advocacy

Advocating for policy changes at state and national levels based on data-driven insights from pilot projects is essential to achieving long-term impact. GBL works closely with policymakers to influence and shape policy priorities that support leprosy eradication and the rights of those affected.
